Actor Roger Guenveur Smith performs this one-man show as Otto Frank, the father of diarist Anne Frank. Smith's Otto Frank addresses his daughter beyond her time and his own, navigating his loss as the only Holocaust survivor of his immediate family. PASA Pop-Up at the Theater at Baranco. The show is about one hour with no intermission.
Nebu Nezey kicked off PASA’s new Pop-ups at Baranco series on October 18. A spectacular performer who belts out blues, R&B, jazz and more in a high-energy show will electrify the theater at Baranco Elementary. Nebu Nezey, her backup band and singers put on a top-notch show, with covers of popular hits that audiences know and love.

Pianist Sean Mason lesd the show-stopping Sean Mason Quintet–the house band of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem led by Mason—through music from the famous films that caught the ear of Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Dianne Reeves and other jazz greats. Singers Kim Nalley and Sasha Dobson join in for “Someday My Prince Will Come,” “He’s a Tramp,” “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat,” “The Bare Necessities” and other iconic songs in this look back on the impact of jazz on 100 years of Disney magic!

Andrea McArdle, who first captured the hearts of theatergoers everywhere when she originated the title role in the mega-musical Annie, performed with Sirius XM radio star and pianist, Seth Rudetsky, for Performing Arts of Acadiana’s (PASA’s) show. The audience can expect to hear songs from Annie, as well as a wide range of familiar Broadway songs from McArdle's incredible career that spans Les Miserables, Beauty And The Beast, and Cabaret and many others!

What could be more divine than a night of Christmas and holiday music performed by international opera star André Courville and the Grammy-nominated high-harmony trio Sweet Cecilia? Courville, sisters Laura Huval and Maegan Berard, along with their first cousin Callie Guidry, bring their talents and their friendship to the stage. It’ll be a first ever for all of us, and them, too!

A quarter of the cowhands in the West were Black. A Harlem composer, Allan Harris, found a way to honor their history. Cross That River, a musical journey, tells the story of Blue, a run-away slave who escapes from Louisiana to Texas and becomes one of America’s first Black Cowboys. Cross That River portrays a significant moment in American history where Black cowboys lived and helped settle the West. PASA tips its hat to our area’s Black Cowboys and we hope you will, too.

Momix, the wildly creative dance company led by famed artistic director Moses Pendleton, is expected to wrap up the PASA season with its fantastical Alice, a retelling of Lewis Carroll’s Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, on March 8, 2023. The tale of Alice unfolds in this exhilarating 90-minute adventure of visionary ideas, creative costuming and props, and dancers’ bodies with extraordinary ability.

It will be a southern night when the Grammy Award-winning New Orleans Jazz Orchestra takes the sonic power and stylistic versatility of a big band, adds a New Orleans emphasis on groove and accessibility, and swing with the tunes of the musical genius Allen Toussaint.
Under new leadership from artistic director and drummer Adonis Rose, the band is showcasing more of its range than ever before. The NOJO is a band for all types of listeners and an especially great entry-point for new fans of jazz. The NOJO is fun and talented, especially when we hear tunes like Southern Nights, and when it gets down to basics with classic New Orleans Tunes.

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, the time-twisting musical collective known for putting “pop music in a time machine,” is set to make the ‘20s roar again! Kicking off in September, The Grand Reopening Tour will bring PMJ back to thrill music-starved audiences in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and Europe, performing some of modern music’s biggest hits in the classic styles of bygone eras.
As always with PMJ’s dazzling live shows, The Grand Reopening Tour will feature an ensemble of multi-talented singers and musicians bringing Bradlee’s generation-spanning arrangements alive night after night. The core ensemble is often joined by surprise guests to make each concert unique and unpredictable – making for one of the most thrilling live music experiences of this and any other time period.

Vibrantly energetic and emotionally captivating, the acclaimed drama Black Angels Over Tuskegee arrives in Lafayette in March. One of the longest running productions Off-Broadway, this award-winning, historical docudrama is a narrative of six men embarking on a journey to become the first Black aviators in the United States Army Air Forces during a tumultuous era of racial segregation and Jim Crow idealism.
Inspired by true events, Black Angels Over Tuskegee movingly illustrates how the men unite in brotherhood to achieve a communal vision.

André Courville, the bass baritone who is gaining momentum as a rising star on stages throughout the world will sing Songs of the Season at 7 p.m. on December 18 in a virtual PASA in Your Casa concert offered by Performing Arts Serving Acadiana (PASA). It's like a Comfy Couch Concert, only you watch from your comfy couch and you don't have to worry parking! Sort of like being at Carnegie Hall, only our halls (houses) are not that big.
Nebu Nezey has sung non-stop since she was two years old. She is a highly skilled vocalist who has always had music in her veins. It was inevitable that she would be an entertainer. Her influences are widely diverse, inspired by such artists as Sybil, Queen, Donnie Hathaway, SWV, Selena, Cathy Dennis, Wilson Phillips, and Whitney Houston.
She has toured as an opening act for Avant, Jon B, Ginuwine, Urban Mystic and Bruh Man, the actor/comedian who was seen in Martin. She advanced to the second round of BET's syndicated Gospel show Sunday Best

Performing Arts Serving Acadiana (PASA), the McComb-Veazey neighborhood and Habitat for Humanity have planned a spring celebration that will take place at 4 p.m. at 907 St. Charles St. in Lafayette, LA. Oh, Hoppy Day includes spring planting tips offered by the Homegrowers Co-op, followed by a concert by vocalist Sasha Massey with pianist Jake Spinella.

The concert, in the beautiful, overlooked Auditorium at Lafayette Middle, is set for 7:30 p.m. on September 26. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, Lafayette Middle School is located at 1301 W University Ave., at the intersection of W. University and Versailles. The performance is offered by UpStage.
