Performing Arts Serving Acadiana offers captivating daytime performances that provide students with the chance to experience the performing arts through field trips. Partnering with Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) and Love Our School’s, PASA reaches 1,700 students per performance of a variety of grade levels. Recent past performances have included the Sean Mason Quartet (2023), Andrea McArdle and Seth Rudetsky (2024), and Opera Creole (2024). Daytime performances allow students to engage with diverse art forms, fostering creativity and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts.
PASA provides opportunities for students to engage directly with professional artists through exclusive masterclasses, enriching their education and honing their craft.
Broadway stars Seth Rudetsky and Andrea McArdle led a masterclass for 8th-12th grade students (2024), where six talented, young performers from the local musical theater community were selected to showcase an audition cut in front of the duo. This incredible performance experience allowed the students to receive expert feedback and guidance from renowned professionals.
In addition, PASA facilitated a masterclass with Ailey II (2024) for University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) dance majors, offering them an opportunity to work with some of the finest dancers in the world. Younger dancers at J.W. James Elementary, which houses the Performing Arts Academy, participated in a masterclass led by Ailey II dancers. These masterclasses not only provide mentorship but also open doors for aspiring artists to refine their talents and build confidence in a professional setting.
